UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA
Formerly the University Pole of Guyana, the University of Guyana has been fully functioning since 1 January 2015. Rooted in its territory, the UG places the emphasis on research and innovation around 4 key areas:
- Dynamics of biodiversity in the Amazon and promotion of natural resources (from genes to ecosystems, in particular the biodiversity of forest, agronomic, marine, coastal and inland waterway ecosystems);
- Health and ecology of health in a tropical environment;
- Dynamics of Amazonian societies in their environments and sustainable management of Amazonian territories;
- Innovative technologies in an Amazon environment and bio-inspired technologies.
The delegated Vice-President in charge of research is the correspondent of the CVT, with the support of a mission head.
