Technology offer : Autonomous observation system of flow of fishes in river
The ‘bichique’ refers to two species of fish found in coastal tropical waters of the Indian Ocean islands ( Madagascar , Mayotte , Reunion, Mauritius , ...), at the rivers mouthes as well as in freshwater.
The bichiques are now overfished.
BichiCAM is the first recording device enabling a non intrusive method to quantify the impact of fisheries upon bichiques.
This device does an automatically counting of the juvenile fish migrating in rivers. It helps estimating the condition of some exploited fisheries resources.
